Saturday Night's Alright for Writing

Working on the first issue of my as-yet-unannounced Marvel project. It debuts in February, same month as my four issue stint on WOLVERINE. Opening scene takes place in a Catholic confessional (and no, it's not Daredevil).

Not gonna tell us what it is, eh? Would you tell us for some Scooby Snacks?

Off topic:

Jason, I am slightly late to comment on your soundtrack to Scalped which you posted a while ago, and I'm not sure you'd find it if I commented on that old post, so here goes:

Your songs are excellent for sure, but for me personally I have come to link one song in particular to the reading experience afforded by your book: "Cowboy Dan" by Modest Mouse, from their "Lonesome Crowded West" album. Do you know it? The link was flimsy at first, I merely listened up when I heard the lyric "He goes to the reservation, drinks and gets mean", but: the force, the sheer energy behind every note and word (this goes for the band's entire oeuvre) match your book toe to tip. I strongly urge you familiarise yourself with it, if you haven't done so already.

Did I mention I'm a huge fan of Scalped? Here's a sample of the lyrics:

Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene
He goes to the reservation drinks and gets mean
He's gonna start a war
He hops in his pickup puts the pedal to the floor
And says "I got mine but I want more"
Well, Cowboy Dan's a major player in the cowboy scene
He goes to the reservation drinks and gets mean
He drove to the desert, fired his rifle in the sky
And said, "God if I have to die you will have to die"

Very dark. Congratulations to you for creating the greatest film noir western to date (imho/excuse my enthusiasm).

Greetings from Germany,
Paul Becker

PS I wrote the Scalped wikipedia article. It's due for an update though, I haven't got the internet right now.

Hey, Paul, thanks for the song suggestion and for writing the Wikipedia entry. Look for a post about Guera's version of the SCALPED soundtrack, coming soon.
